The University’s victorious Gaelic Football team are celebrating after qualifying to represent British universities at the Independent.ie Sigerson Cup Finals.
Defeating RGU from Scotland at the Sigerson Qualification Tournament in Manchester, means the team will take on Magee College of Ulster University in the Corn na MacLeinn Cup in Mayo.
Team Manager Garvan Jones said: “We’ve some very classy players and our fitness level is good, the lads and the managers have trained us well the last few weeks. Hopefully we’ll go home with the trophy.”
Stevie O’Connor, Co-Manager of the team, added: “We’ve had strong teams the past three years and now we’ve dropped down to the C competition, hopefully we can go one step further this year.”
