Sunshine and celebrations marked the first day of Summer Graduation 2019.

Students were joined by their family and friends at Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral, as they toasted to the end of their studies and the start of the next chapter.

Ivy Kalungi, who studied Fine Art, said: “My time at Hope has been amazing, it has been everything and more than I expected. The opportunities I've had have been brilliant, including winning the FACT residency award at the Degree Show. After Graduation, I will be working with FACT and Liverpool Hope on a two-month residency to produce a new piece of sculpture that will be exhibited at FACT.”

Alongside the Class of 2019 graduates, four special guests are set to receive Honorary Degrees at this year’s ceremonies.

Archbishop Paul R. Gallagher, Professor Monica Grady, Sir Peter Lampl and Professor Simon Armitage will all receive an Honorary Award in recognition of both the contributions they have made to their specific fields, and the way they uphold the missions and values of the University.

In keeping with the Graduation ceremony tradition, the Honoraries will deliver a speech designed to inspire the next generation as they prepare to go out into the world.
