A new article by Dr Brian Christopher Jones looking at the impact of Donald Trump’s election as president, has been published by the Harvard Law and Policy Review.
In his article Presidentializing Incivility: Trump and the expansion of presidential opportunity, Dr Jones argues that Donald Trump's election expanded access to the presidency.
He explores the idea that Trump’s influence has perhaps been more important than either of Barack Obama’s elections.
Dr Jones said: “A striking, and unsettling, precedent has now been set, not simply in terms of candidate qualifications, but also dignity and civility - behaviours that democracies will struggle to survive without.”
