As people across the globe come together to celebrate International Women’s Day, we take a look at how Liverpool Hope University is working to #BeBoldForChange.

The University is proud to be a part of the Athena SWAN Charter and is committed to tackling gender equality.

Athena SWAN encourages universities to look at gender equality practices across the board. With over 143 members across the UK, it is arguably set to create fundamental changes across the Higher Education Sector. Being a part of Athena SWAN not only incites change within a single university but it also address a need for change across an entire sector.

What is Liverpool Hope doing?

The University’s Self-Assessment Team marked International Women’s Day by hosting an open discussion with colleagues from across Hope, who were invited to discuss the progress and impact of Athena SWAN.

Elsewhere, Liverpool Hope’s Women’s Network is running its second Inspirational Women Series, which - through support from staff - is expected to go from strength to strength. This series has already seen Dr Silvia Forchap speak about women in leadership and business, and will welcome Ganor Zaagstra and Elizabeth Evans in the coming weeks.

Liverpool Hope also funds places for women to participate in the Leadership Foundation Aurora programme, which seeks to maximise the potential of women in the workplace and to develop them as leaders.
