Local schoolchildren have been given an Opera taster session, as part of a new project between Hope Graduate Theatre Company and the European Opera Centre.
The week-long project at Barlows Primary School, Fazakerley, saw the company facilitate workshops for Year 5 schoolchildren.
For several weeks beforehand, the children had been working on Janacek's The Cunning Little Vixen - an hour-long animated version instigated by the European Opera Centre and made by the BBC.
The project introduced the students to the four disciplines that produce opera: Art & Design; Drama/Movement; Music/Sound; and Production - including photography.
Niamh Malone, Senior Lecturer in Drama, said: “This is the second year that Hope Graduate Theatre Company has combined its specialisms with The European Opera Centre, to produce exciting socially inclusive work for local children.”
