An original performance piece from MA by Creative Practice graduate Francess Gannon will be showcased as part of Liverpool’s LightNight 2018.
Talking Stalls is a series of intimate interactive performances exploring notions of identity, gender and space. It encourages participation and conversation, and raises questions around the politics of public female bathrooms.
Francess explores whether this space is “an autonomous sanctuary for women, a place to engage in an uncensored forum, safe from the gaze; or if the space exists to reinforce gender roles, and hide the 'undesirable' parts of femininity”. Participants are invited to communicate and ‘confess’ with performers, and inscribe graffiti on the walls of ‘their’ cubicle.
Taking place on Friday 18th May between 5 – 9.30pm, each performance will last 10 minutes and slots can be booked through Eventbrite.
