Associate Professor Stephen Kelly has published his new monograph on former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.

Reflecting on this important milestone in his academic career, Associate Professor Kelly explained how his new book is ‘the fruition of several years of research’.

This was supported by funding from Liverpool Hope's research budget, as well as external funding, notably an archive by-fellowship from Cambridge University.

The book, Margaret Thatcher, the Conservative Party and the Northern Ireland conflict (Bloomsbury, 2021) has already been received with critical acclaim.

Professor Tim Bale described the book as 'required reading for anyone interested in the Thatcher era', while Professor Richard English noted that it is 'a major subject, examined through the integration of very rich source... a fascinating study'.
