Senior Lecturer in Music Dr Manuella Blackburn has been invited to give the keynote address at this year’s Australasian Computer Music Association (ACMA) Conference in Perth, Australia.

Taking place in December, the three-day conference will be held in conjunction with the Musicological Society of Australia.

The theme of the 2018 conference is 'Reflecting Worlds: The promise and limitations of mimesis in electronic music'.

Founded in 1989, the ACMA provides a forum for new compositions, information sharing, and research about music technology and computer music, principally throughout Australia and New Zealand. The Association is ‘a community of composers, performers, teachers and technologists who have an interest in, are making, or supporting music making with computers’. The annual conference serves as a forum for the members’ activities, music and research.
