Members of Hope Graduate Theatre Company (GTC) 2017 have started work with the Department of Drama, Dance and Performance Studies.

Established in 2012 by Dr Niamh Malone, who continues to be director, the company is staffed through Hope's internship scheme.

The company’s work began with a meeting at St Francis Xavier Church, where alongside Fr Dennis and the parishioners, they recorded an oral local history of Everton. Company members will work with the parish over the next few months toward a collaborative storytelling performance.

Among the company’s remit is outreach, and as part of this, members will deliver specialised drama workshops at selected high schools in the North West.

Hope GTC members are also working as assistant directors to Dr Kris Darby for his production of Dreamings, Dr Stephe Harrop’s production of A Matter of Life and Death (both Tuesday 7th  - Wednesday 8th February) and Dr Niamh Malone’s Cornerstone Festival production of Willy Russell’s Educating Rita (Tuesday 7th March).

Talking about the internship programme, Dr Malone said: “It promises to be a packed and fulfilling experience for all concerned.”
