Psychology’s Professor Galina Paramei was invited as a Visiting Professor at the University of Verona, Italy’s, Department of Computer Science.

The invitation came from Professor Gloria Menegaz, Professor of Informatics and Head of Neuroimaging Group, with whom Professor Paramei has a long-standing research collaboration.

Since her first stay as a Visiting Professor in 2014, the pair have co-authored six publications on Colour Cognition, and two more are in progress.

During her latest stay, Professor Paramei processed data collected in Verona and worked on three manuscripts. Professor Paramei was also asked to deliver several sessions on multivariate statistics to ca. 20 PhD students in Science and Bioinformatics (Nanosciences and Advanced Technologies; Computer Science) and Medicine (Neurosciences; Biomedical Sciences; Health Sciences).

Professor Paramei said: “The students' commitment was rewarding and the feedback extremely positive.”

The research collaboration is being further developed, with both co-holders of a grant, from the EU Social Fund & Veneto Region Fund (Italy), which was endorsed at the beginning of June. Another grant application, in cooperation also with Professor Riccardo Scarpa (Durham University), is being prepared.
