Professor Galina Paramei has been invited to give a keynote talk at the fifth Progress in Colour Studies conference in Tallinn, Estonia.
The conference aims to provide a forum for discussion of recent and ongoing research, and to bring together scholars from different disciplines.
Professor Paramei will discuss the ‘Communicative need drives colour language refinement: The riches of ‘Italian blues’’.
She will report on her ongoing studies, in cooperation with the Universities of Sassari, Verona and Florence (Italy), on cognitive representation of Italian colour names and communication need as the main factor driving cognitive and lexical refinement of perceived colours.
Professor Paramei will join three other keynote speakers attending from across the globe.
