Research award for Associate Professor Sonja Tiernan

The Keough-Naughton Institute of Irish Studies at the University of Notre Dame has selected Associate Professor Sonja Tiernan to receive its inaugural Library Research Award.

As part of the award, Liverpool Hope’s Head of the Department of History & Politics will be given external funding to cover all associated costs, office space at the Institute of Irish Studies and full access to the University of Notre Dame's library.

While at the University, Associate Professor Tiernan will begin research for her next book project, which focuses on modern social and political reforms made by Irish women.

The University of Notre Dame houses a world leading collection of Irish primary and secondary sources. The Irish collection supports research 'in all aspects of Irish life and culture, from politics and economics to music and theatre’.

Associate Professor Tiernan will take up this award during the Spring semester 2019.
