A spectacular student showcase is coming to Liverpool Hope University in January.

And with dance, drama and musical performances, there’s something for everyone.

The extravaganza is being organised by Hope’s Students’ Union (SU) and explodes into the city centre Capstone Theatre on Sunday 30th January 2022.

It’s the culmination of a unique collaboration between lots of different societies within the SU.

And crowds can enjoy everything from hip-hop and burlesque-themed dance, to bands belting-out tunes and musical theatre performances of tracks such as Somewhere That’s Green from The Little Shop of Horrors.

Emily Bradley, Union Administrator & Sports and Activities Coordinator at the Hope SU explains: “The pandemic has caused lots of our societies to have prolonged periods of inactivity, and the arts in particular has been one of the most significantly impacted sectors in our community.

“The creation of this SU Showcase has seen incredible cooperation from our students, as lots of different societies worked together to create a diverse show that we hope the public will really enjoy.”

When it comes to music, you can expect solo and duet pieces alongside the band performances, as well as a sensational rendition of a key song from Broadway smash Spring Awakening

Emily adds: “We’re mindful of the rise in Covid-19 cases and we’ll continue to monitor the latest government advice in order to keep our performers and audiences safe.”

Restrictions permitting, the SU Showcase will kick off at 2pm on Sunday 30th January 2022, with doors opening at 1pm.

Refreshments will be available at the start of the performance and during the interval.

Tickets are priced at £6.50 and can be purchased via EventBrite
