I am an ecologist broadly focused on environmental change and identifying ways by which it can be monitored and managed. My research has a strong emphasis on the role of microorganisms regulating biogeochemical cycles. I use modelling and multivariate approaches to provide empirical evidence of the progress of peatland restoration to inform policy and future management. Research findings are used to develop nature-based solutions to climate change and bioindicators to monitor resilience of habitats and ecosystems.
