I joined Liverpool Hope University in 2004, bringing with me a long and varied career in education, health, social services and the voluntary sector. My research interests lie within the field of Disability Studies, with a particular focus on children described as having profound and multiple learning difficulties, children with Down syndrome and students and staff who identify as 'mad' in higher education. My research is affiliated with the School's Research Centre for Culture and Disability Studies.
I have a number of teaching responsibilities including being Head of First Year for the BA 'SEN' major. I am Chair of Academic Committee for the School of Social Science, Senior Assessment Adviser and Lead Senior Academic Adviser. In addition, I have won a number of prizes for innovation in Learning and Teaching and enjoy developing new curriculum.
