BA (Colombo); PhD (Leeds); Senior Lecturer in English Language 

I currently teach Understanding Language (Phonetics and Phonology- Level C Core I), Language and Mind (Level I Core I); Language and Identity, Linguistic Anthropology and Philosophy of Language (Level I Core 2), World Englishes and Psychology of Language (Level H Core 2). In previous years, I have taught courses on the History and Development of English (team taught),  Spoken Discourse, Global English and Aspects of Psycholinguistics. I am currently the co-ordinator for Level H (final year) and I also serve as International officer for the subject. In addition to English Language teaching, I also teach Level C Media and Communications. 

I am a core member of the the Centre for Culture and Disability studies. My main research interests are in the language of death and in epistolary constructions of identity in post world war I letters. I am interested in supervising postgraduates who want to work in the following areas: World Englishes, Language and Identity and Psycholinguistics.
