Dr Noura Abdi

Dr. Abdi joined Liverpool Hope University in January 2023. She is a lecturer in Computer Science and the module lead for Human-Computer Interaction, Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity. She completed her undergraduate degree in Computer Forensics at Liverpool John Moores University in 2017, graduating with first-class honours. Following her undergraduate studies, she received a full scholarship from the EPSRC to pursue her PhD at King’s College London, which she was awarded in 2021. Her doctoral research focused on the usability, security, and privacy of smart home voice assistants.

After completing her PhD, she worked as a postdoctoral researcher, testing the security and privacy of smart home applications at  the University of California, Berkeley, and The International Computer Science Institute. She has secured peer-reviewed conference papers in top cybersecurity and privacy conferences such as USENIX Security, CSCW and Human Factors in Computing. Additionally, she has presented her work at various international conferences.

Dr. Abdi is passionate about her research and continues to seek out potential collaborations.
