Dr Sridevi Yerrabati (Sri) joined Liverpool Hope Business School as a Senior Lecturer in Economics and Finance in 2023. She is a certified Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and holds a Post Graduate Certificate in Higher Education (PG Cert HE). Her experience teaching in higher education spans over two decades covering India, the United Kingdom, and Oman.
Sri obtained her PhD from the University of Greenwich, where her doctoral research undertook a systematic review of the literature on foreign direct investments, economic governance and economic growth in the context of South, East-Asia and Pacific countries. Alongside identifying the factors that have caused heterogeneity among the reported estimates, her research provided valuable information to policymakers by increasing the sample size and the power of the study effects.
Currently, her research focus is on examining various issues connected to Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 1, 5 and 8 in the context of developing countries. Her research focuses primarily on issues involving the employment of workers not part of the mainstream labour market and lacking formal employment arrangements. To this end, her recent publications examine the relationship between these workers and socioeconomic issues, including poverty, inequality, and development. She is also interested in finding ways to improve these workers' lives through appropriate financial assistance.
Sri welcomes PhD applications on socio-economic issues connected to SDG 1, 5 and 8 in the context of low-income/lower-middle-income/developing countries.
