After completing an Arts degree Roger went into Art and Media Education later becoming a manager and creating two substantial projects; Mediastation was a production centre and training facility which worked closely with Granada TV to deliver modern apprenticeships in the Television Industry and Toxteth TV an award winning production house and multi camera TV Studio which was an incubator for small production companies and provided facilities for most of the main broadcasters and more recently broadcasting directly onto the internet.
Roger has now been making films for 20 years as a director and producer including pop videos,TV documentaries and shorts through to factual feature length film production and many arts films. Roger has experience as a director, producer, camera op and editor.
With over 30 broadcast programmes made, Roger’s film Looking for Lennon was nominated for Best Documentary in the National Film and Television Awards 2019 and has been successfully sold in over 25 countries.
Roger has co-created a Youtube channel featuring short films about the pre-fame Beatles from 1956-1962. This has generated over 1,000,000 views with nearly 7,000 subscribers and is the leading channel for “Quarrymen” searches on Youtube (John Lennon’s first band).
His extensive journalistic experience in making factual programmes means he has a wide range of skills in getting the best out of all sorts of contributors, including internationally successful musicians and actors, high profile politicians, artists, and cultural commentators.
