I hold a BFA in Dance performance from the University of South Florida in the United States and have been teaching in higher education since 2014. I am currently undertaking my Masters of Research at the University of Roehampton with focus on the Japanese movement practice of Butoh and classical dance language.
My interest is in choreographic research that constantly seeks to confuse the traditional boundaries that exist between dance and other art practices. My professional works spans over two decades of interdisciplinary collaborations and performances that have been developed and presented internationally. My training is based in classical ballet and contemporary dance and have studied with some of the great masters such as Gelsey Kirland, Fernando Bujones, and Madame Gabriella Darvash. I had the pleasure to dance with Simone Forti through contact improvisation have danced with companies such as Altrotreatro and Compagnia Nicola Laudati in Italy as well as Moving Current and Gaudere Danza in Florida.
I am the founder of the dance company Anoikis, which supports my research in avant-garde practice and multidisciplinary approaches, and currently run a venue based in North Wales for experimental arts practices. My work and projects have been supported by the Arts Council of Wales, most recently involving a production with international artists including butoh dancer Sayoko Onishi, no-input mixing boards musicians Toshimaru Nakamura and Andrew Leslie Hooker, and double bassist Emmanuel Fleitz.
