I received my BMus (Hons) degree from the University of Birmingham before continuing my post graduate studies in opera at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester. Since receiving my Master’s degree, I have worked as a 1-1 vocal tutor at all levels of education, as well as maintaining a busy career as a professional singer. 

I have been a 1-1 vocal tutor for over fifteen years, working in highly regarded vocational institutions such as The Arden School of Theatre and Liverpool Theatre School, and regularly coaching at the National Children’s Choir of Great Britain and Leeds Junior Conservatoire. I am also proud to be a guest vocal coach for prolific ‘low-voices’ choir ‘The Sunday Boys’, Manchester-based theatre company ‘Feelgood Theatre Productions’ and Streetwise Opera. Many of my 1-1 students are working in the industry in productions such as The Lion King and SING on Tour at Universal Studios in Japan, as well as performing in pantomimes, on cruises and at Disneyland Hong Kong.

I have performed professionally in opera, operetta and musical theatre for companies such as Clonter Opera, Opera on Location, and Feelgood Theatre. I work regularly with composers to create and perform new works, and perform contemporary musical theatre cabaret with ‘Voices and Lyrics.’

I have been a proud member of the Musical Theatre team at Liverpool Hope since 2021. My role as a Professional Tutor involves teaching lectures and seminars in History of Musical Theatre, Producing Musical Theatre and Ensemble Singing. I help students to develop their vocal performance skills, as well as supporting their academic work. I also play a key part in helping to produce the high quality shows that the department is known for.
