In Year 1, your placement will spend a minimum of 50 days building up your knowledge of effective pedagogy with small groups of pupils and then with the whole class for up to 30% week.
In Year 2, of the programme you will be required to typically complete a 7 week block enhancement placement in a contrasting setting plus an additional 5 days within your own setting. Teaching up to 50% during Year 2 will enable you to consolidate and enhance your professional skills as a teacher.

During these placements, you will have an identified workplace mentor who will support and guide you as you build upon the practice and theory introduced during your work at the university. As you move into your various placements, you will be fully supported by a University Skills Coach and the wider apprenticeship programme team. Placements will be arranged by your employer and supported by the university.
