Music and nightlife

Liverpool is Europe’s Capital of Music. It’s impossible to imagine Liverpool without music – or music without Liverpool.

Birthplace of The Beatles, the world’s most famous pop group, the city is home to a host of first-class festivals, including Sound City, Liverpool International Music Festival, Africa Oyé and Liverpool Loves. The world-leading dance festival Creamfields is held just outside the city each year and attracts some of the biggest DJs in the industry.

The city’s M&S Bank Arena Liverpool hosts everything, from big name acts like Beyoncé, Sir Paul McCartney, Liam Gallagher, Arctic Monkeys, Stormzy and Drake, to major entertainment events, including the Eurovision Song Contest, Netball World Cup and British Gymnastics Championship Series.

Nightlife

It's no secret that Liverpool is one of the UK's best nights out. Whether you're wanting to dance the night away, sip a cocktail, or listen to a live gig, Liverpool has all tastes catered for.

If you're in the party mood, head to one of the many clubs situated around the Seel Street and Concert Square area. If you're looking for something a bit more chilled, the traditional pubs in the city offer a cosy and relaxed alternative, or you can head to the waterfront for a cocktail with a picturesque backdrop.

One of the city’s most exciting areas is the Baltic Triangle. At the heart of Liverpool’s independent scene, this former factory and workshop district is constantly evolving as new cafés, clubs and live music venues emerge. All within easy reach and only a short taxi ride away from both campuses.
