Our academics have been sharing their expertise, and our students have been sharing their experience of studying at Liverpool Hope with the media. 

Dr Michael Brennan's (Social Science, pictured) comments on public mourning in response to a number of celebrity deaths appeared in The Star Online (Malaysia); Astro Awani (Malaysia);Shanghai Daily (China); The Straits Times (Singapore) Metro (Canada); New Vision (Uganda); and TV5 Monde (France). 

Politics and International Relations student Joseph Champion Williams was featured in The Tablet as a case study in a feature about the gender gap at universities. 

Professor Michael Lavalette (Social Work, Care and Justice) spoke to the Liverpool Echo about Public Health England’s figures on child poverty. 

Bryce Evans (History and Politics) contributed to an article in The Independent in which he discussed the modern concept of poverty.

Janet Lord’s appointment as Head of ITT was covered by Schools Week.

Poet Dr Eleanor Rees (Media and Communication) spoke to BBC online about the band Eliza and the Bear, whose name comes from one of her poems.  

Alumna Charlotte Martin (The Beatles, Popular Music & Society MA) was featured in The Telegraph talking about how her degree prepared her for her career. 

Dr Jacqui Miller (Media and Communication) was interviewed on Radio Merseyside about the launch of the BFI public information film archive (49 mins in).

News of this year’s honorary doctorates appeared in the Liverpool Echo and the Church of England Newspaper.   

Dr Omid Alizadehkhaiyat (Health Science) spoke to MedPage about the occupational risks of tennis elbow. He also represented Liverpool Hope University at the launch press conference for the Liverpool Hope International Tennis Tournament, where he spoke to various media outlets including Bay TV. 

Professor Michael Lavalette was interviewed by BBC’s The Sunday Politics about safeguarding and the current situation for social workers.

Dr Bryce Evans has become a regular contributor to Radio City news’s PMQs analysis.

Sue Cronshaw (Media & Communication), has a regular slot discussing that day's news stories on the BBC Radio Merseyside Breakfast Show.
