Introduction to Research Integrity (second edition) - Training
The Introduction to research integrity Course has been refreshed and improved for 2026 to provide a strong foundational understanding of research integrity principles, along with practical guidance on how to apply them in every day research practices. It consists of three independent modules:
Module 1. Principles of research integrity
Module 2. Frameworks to support research integrity
Module 3. Research integrity in practice
This course is suitable for researchers at all career stages and across disciplines, as well as research governance professionals. It serves as a foundational course for early-career researchers and a refresher for experienced professionals.
When accessing the course for the first time, learners will need to register using their name, surname, and institutional email address. Learners can save their progress by pressing the 'Exit the module' button and return to the course at any time before 31 July 2027.

The Ethics of Research involving Human Participants Training Suite
The Ethics of Research involving Human Participants Training Suite is designed to help staff and students gain a deeper understanding of ethical research and navigate the challenges that arise when conducting research involving human participants.
Developed in partnership with the University of Suffolk and reviewed by experts from a wide range of disciplines, the training combines current ethical principles with practical guidance. It offers an engaging, interactive learning experience that is relevant across diverse research contexts.
This package is designed for organisations to deliver high-quality training to their teams. It is particularly relevant for:
- researchers at any career stage – from students and early-career researchers to experienced professionals
- staff involved in the design, review, or management of research projects involving human participants
- members of Research Ethics Committees (RECs) or equivalent bodies
The courses can serve as an introduction for new staff or a refresher for experienced teams, helping organisations embed ethical standards and good practice in research.
