Liverpool Hope University will be hosting the 2019 Cathedrals Group Choir Festival at Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral of Christ the King.
The annual event sees more than 300 singers and musicians from 11 universities across England come together to perform and celebrate music.
With 2019 marking 175 years since the establishment of Liverpool Hope’s founding colleges, the festival is one of several celebratory events being held throughout the year.
Taking place on Saturday 2nd March, the concert will feature choirs from University of Winchester, University of Chichester, and Canterbury Christ Church University among others.
Liverpool Hope’s David Walters will direct the choirs, and Wirral Symphony Orchestra will accompany the singers.
The concert will include performances of Charles Hubert Hasting Parry’s I was glad, John Rutter’s Psalmfest, and Edward Elgar’s Sursum Cordia (Elevation).
The late Dr Noel Rawsthorne’s anthem They that go down to the sea, will also be performed at the festival.
Open to members of the public, tickets for this celebratory evening are available now and can be purchased through TicketQuarter.
