Some of the Business School’s top students were presented with sought-after work experience opportunities at the 2019 Insight to Business Awards.

The coveted placements provide shortlisted candidates with the chance to meet and network with potential future employers.

Marketing and Sociology student Declan Wilson was awarded a two-week placement with Nichols PLC, who are the team behind Vimto.

Speaking about the opportunity, he said: “I think the Insight to Business Awards is a great initiative for everyone involved and the Business School has been outstanding in helping students get experience.

“Work experience can help give students a better idea of what they want to do after they leave university. I’m hoping to get industry experience out of my placement that will put me in good stead for when I finish my degree in the summer.”

This year, a diverse range of local and national businesses awarded work experience to 30 students. Among these were, The Brain Charity, Little League Sports, Flint Town United Football Club, Lloyds, Jon Davies Accountant, RSM, Nichols PLC, Marketing Liverpool, Vodafone, Active Profile, Haines Watts, BWM, MSB Solicitors, Everton Football Club, Liverpool Chamber, GOSH Medical Group, Proquest, and Mintel.

Students nominated for an Insight to Business Award were invited to a special awards dinner, where the winners were announced.

The event brought together academics, students and representatives from the businesses offering placement opportunities.
