An exhibition showcasing the work of final year students from the Department of Fine and Applied Art is set to go on display at the Creative Campus.
Opening with a private viewing on Friday 25th May at 5pm, the 2018 Degree Show will feature paintings, sculpture, jewellery design, textiles and ceramics. The content of the work is wide-ranging and includes thematic topics such as, memory, social justice, abstraction, installation, and the role of technology in public and private spaces. A range of awards sponsored by prestigious art organisations will be presented to students on the opening night, including the FACT+Liverpool Hope Production Residency Award, which was introduced in 2015.
The exhibition is the culmination of three years of study and our students would welcome Hope alumni to witness the strength, courage, critical engagement and reflective decision making that makes up the everyday experiences of excellence in scholarship and academic engagement. Many pieces will be available to purchase at the viewing. The exhibition is open to the public from Saturday 26th May to Monday 4th June, 10am - 5pm in the Cornerstone Building at the Creative Campus.
Most of our Alumni events take place in Childwall and so the Degree Show is an excellent opportunity to also see the Cornerstone Campus. We will meet at 5.00pm on the ground floor for a glass of wine and then wander at leisure around the exhibition. At 6.00pm the presentation of awards takes place, one of which is the Alumni Purchase Prize. If you would like to attend, please let us know at the Alumni Office on alumni@hope.ac.uk
