Colleagues at Liverpool Hope University led an important event at the Creative Campus, engaging with the City Council and our partners at Citizens UK.
Starting from the Creative Campus, the walk took the group through the local Everton community. Hope’s Musical Theatre students conducted a performance on campus, followed by student-led improvised dance as the walk commenced.
Liverpool Hope University’s Vice-Chancellor Professor Claire Ozanne greeted guests including Cllr Liam Robinson, leader of Liverpool City Council, Nicki Butterworth, Director of Housing and Neighbourhoods Liverpool City Council, Chris Lomas, Director of Environmental Services, Catherine McNeill, Neighbourhood manager, Cllr Jane Corbett, Councillor for Everton, member of Liverpool’s Health and Wellbeing Board and Honorary Fellow of Liverpool Hope, and Sergeant Sherrington of the local Merseyside police force.
The route took the party through the Everton community, starting on Haigh Street, then to Everton Brow and Everton Park, involving meetings with various members of the community along the way.
This event is part of the important work that Hope is doing with Citizens UK, listening to its community and working with them to win change. Citizens UK is the UK’s biggest people-powered alliance bringing together everyday people and local organisations to build a better, fairer society. Together we are seeking a safer and cleaner environment in which to live.
Many thanks to all of our colleagues involved in this event and wider project, and to our fantastic students for their invaluable contribution.
