Liverpool Hope Lecturers will share their expertise at a special health event held in conjunction with this year’s Grand National sponsors.
Senior Lecturer in Exercise Physiology Dr Denise Roche and Teacher Education Advisor Frank Cogley will join a panel of experts at Randox Health Week.
Organised in association with Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) and Liverpool Hope University, the three-day event aims to share messages concerning human healthcare.
The educational programme focuses on mental health, physical activity and health diagnostics, and is delivered by world-leading industry and academic speakers.
Randox Health is behind the pioneering health check that can detect possible signs of disease before symptoms appear. Legendary jockey Sir Anthony McCoy was diagnosed with prediabetes as a result of the health check, and will join Dr Roche on day three of the programme.
Dr Roche will feature in a talk entitled - ‘Let’s reverse it – Tackling the threat of Type-2 diabetes’, while Frank will join the session ‘When it runs in the family: Why we need to find out early’.
Randox Health Week will take place over three afternoons on Monday 9th – Wednesday 11th April, prior to the Randox Health Grand National.
