Liverpool Hope University has signed a new progression agreement with the City of Liverpool College, creating a clear pathway for students studying an Access to Higher Education (Psychology &Mental Health) course to progress to a Psychology degree at Liverpool Hope.
The agreement was signed as the first cohort of students visited Hope Park for a university taster day. The visit provided students with an opportunity to experience life at Liverpool Hope, meet staff and find out more about studying Psychology at degree level, helping them to take their first steps towards university study.
The new progression route is designed to make higher education more accessible, providing an alternative route into degree-level study for students who may not have the traditional qualifications normally required for entry to university.
The Access to Higher Education (Psychology & Mental Health) course has been developed by programme lead Marc Evans at the City of Liverpool College, with support and academic input from Liverpool Hope’s School of Psychology. The collaboration has helped establish a clear and supported progression route for students intending to study Psychology at Liverpool Hope.
Head of Psychology at Liverpool Hope Professor Caroline Wakefield said: “We are pleased to sign the first progression agreement for the University, and to be working closely with a dedicated team at the City of Liverpool College. As a School, we were involved in the development of the Access to Higher Education (Psychology & Mental Health) course to allow a seamless transition to Liverpool Hope for those students intending to study Psychology.”
The partnership reflects Liverpool Hope’s commitment to widening access to higher education and its belief that education should be open to people from all backgrounds.
The new agreement strengthens the relationship between Liverpool Hope and the City of Liverpool College, while supporting a shared commitment to helping more students progress into higher education and achieve their ambitions.
