Liverpool Hope University has been awarded a Silver rating in the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) 2023.

Run by the Office for Students, TEF is a national scheme which assesses and rates higher education providers for excellence above a set of minimum requirements for quality and standards in the areas of teaching, learning and positive student outcomes.

Liverpool Hope’s overall result was underpinned by a Silver award for both student experience and student outcomes. The Silver rating is defined by TEF as meaning the student experience and outcomes are typically of a very high quality.

Professor Claire Ozanne, Vice-Chancellor of Liverpool Hope University, said: “This result is testament to the enduring quality of education we provide at Liverpool Hope University.

“We take great pride in delivering an excellent university experience for our students and work with them to ensure they enjoy the positive graduate outcomes their talent and efforts deserve. This is reflected in our Silver rating and both our staff and students can be proud of this award.

“We will continue to strive for further improvement as part of our ongoing commitment to providing our students with the best possible experience.”

Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Dr Penny Haughan added: “This result would not have been possible without the hard work of colleagues from across the University.

“I must express my thanks to all those who contributed to our TEF submission and indeed everyone whose continued effort helps us deliver such a positive student experience.”

A total of 228 education providers in England took part in TEF in 2023 and Liverpool Hope’s overall Silver rating will remain valid for the next four years.
