Liverpool Hope University's i3 Building has been recognised as one of the Liverpool City Region's outstanding architectural projects after being shortlisted at the prestigious Liverpool Architectural Society Awards.

The building, designed by Wilson Mason Architects, was one of just five projects shortlisted in the Pride of Place: Liverpool City Region Building Award category, which celebrates architectural excellence and projects that make a significant contribution to the region's identity, community and character.

The awards ceremony, supported by RIBA North West, took place at Liverpool Town Hall, bringing together leading architects and industry professionals to celebrate the best in regional architecture.

The i3 Building was shortlisted alongside several high-profile developments, including Everton's new Hill Dickinson Stadium, the Mersey Tunnel Monument, Lightbody Street and the University of Liverpool's School of Architecture Building.

The recognition highlights the quality of the University's built environment and its continued investment in creating inspiring spaces for its students, staff and wider community.

The i3 Building officially opened in autumn 2024, and was designed to inspire creativity, collaboration and innovation. The space includes group study and breakout spaces, lecture theatres and seminar rooms.

The building houses a state-of-the-art Simulation Lab, which provides a modern, interactive space for teaching, wellbeing sessions and exhibitions. As well as facilitating learning and teaching, the i3 Building has also played host to events and conferences.

Representatives from Liverpool Hope University attended the ceremony last week, alongside project architects Wilson Mason and quantity surveyors Baker Mallett to celebrate the achievement.
