Liverpool Hope University’s Concert band is looking for new members from the local community.
The wind instrument ensemble includes students, staff, alumni and local musicians. Musical Director Dr Anne James is on the look-out for more members from the local community, including sixth form students.
The band regularly performs concerts at the University and other local venues. Its repertoire ranges from popular arrangements of film scores and musicals, to wind band classics and new works written by Hope music students. Students from the University take a leading role in conducting and rehearsing.
Dr James said: “The band is a friendly community which welcomes people of all ages and musical tastes. We have a wide range of current members including youngsters and retired people, and everyone in between. Our students enjoy working with new players, making great connections and sharing musical experiences and expertise. We hope to attract new members for our current season beginning this month.”
If you play a wind instrument and would like to join the band, rehearsals take place at Hope Park, Childwall on Tuesday evenings, 6-8pm. For further details contact Anne at jamesa@hope.ac.uk.
