The talents of Liverpool Hope’s third-year Fine & Applied Arts students will be on display, as the Annual Student Arts Auction returns this festive season.
On Thursday 7th December, the Great Hall will be transformed into an auction house, with one-of-a-kind pieces created by promising young talent available to buy.
Auctioneer Dr Paul O’Keefe will be putting the original artwork under the hammer, alongside donated pieces created by established artists.
With complimentary refreshments, raffle prizes and a bar, the public auction is a great opportunity to celebrate new artistic talents, while picking up a unique Christmas present for friends and family.
Jason Jones, Fine & Applied Arts Technical Manager, said: “The Student Art Auction is often the first opportunity the students have to showcase their talents or provide an insight into their practice ahead of their end of year Degree show.
“All third year Fine & Applied Arts students are involved on the day, from set-up at 9am, to when the event finishes at approx. 10pm.”
The Fine & Applied Arts Auction originally started in 2006, and is one of the department's favourite events of the academic year.
Works to be auctioned include; Drawing, Ceramics, Painting, Jewellery, Printmaking, Textiles, Digital Media, Photography, Sculpture, and both functional and non-functional design in many materials.
The proceeds from the auction go towards the end of year Degree Show, which will open to the public at a special event on Friday 25th May 2018.
The Annual Student Arts Auction will take place in the Great Hall, Creative Campus, Shaw Street, L6 1HP on Thursday 7th December. Doors open at 5pm, with the auction starting at approximately 6.15pm.
