Alumnus Liam Markey, who studied MA Museum and Heritage Studies at Liverpool Hope, has been awarded a coveted PhD scholarship.
The Economic and Social Research Council PhD Studentship is a collaborative venture between the University of Liverpool and The British Library.
Head of Fine and Applied Art Jan Egerton said: “Congratulations to Liam on his receipt of this prestigious scholarship. The department extends its best wishes for his continued academic success.”
Liam graduated from Liverpool Hope in 2017 and is undertaking a research project entitled; Mediating militarism: chronicling 100 years of British ‘military victimhood’ from print to digital, 1918-2018.
The project will continue explorations undertaken by Liam during his time at Liverpool Hope into the public dissemination of historic narratives surrounding the First World War and the forces that continue to shape them.
