A new formal link between the School of Health Sciences and sports coaching and education company Little League Sports (LLS), is bringing international footballers to Liverpool Hope.

LLS is based in the Liverpool area, and provides sports tours for international footballers coming from countries such as Norway, Finland and Ireland.

The company is now working with Sports Science colleagues within the School of Health Sciences to deliver ‘taster’ sessions to the players, particularly around how science can help support football performance.

Jordan Wright, Managing Director of LLS, said: “The Sports Science staff provide fantastic insight and share first-class knowledge to our visitors, which is resulting in Liverpool Hope becoming a popular destination for more and more LLS international students.”

The department recently hosted professional U16 Norwegian boys and girls teams in the Health Science Building, which received very positive feedback.

Senior Lecturer in Coaching Science Dr James Malone, who set up the link, said: “We have been in contact with Jordan and LLS for the past couple of years, building on existing links they had with the University. We are pleased to work with the company to provide a practical insight into how football science can enhance performance and also help to educate the players when visiting the UK.”
