Hope graduates celebrated today, 22 January, at the Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral.
Despite the rain, students, alongside their friends, family and loved ones, gathered in their caps and gowns to mark the completion of their studies at Hope. Graduates received degree awards across a number of subject areas and levels of study, including undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorates.
The University was joined for the occasion by special guests Keshia Abraham and Levi Tafari. Keshia was inducted into the Hope College of Fellows for her work in global education, having gone on to found The Abraham Consulting Agency. Poet and writer, Levi was awarded an honorary degree from Hope for his work in the creative industries, and for his contribution in working with Hope students in English and Creative Writing subjects.
The day marked a significant milestone in our graduates’ educational journey, and was an opportunity to reflect on their time spent at Hope.
Guests were addressed by Vice-Chancellor Professor Claire Ozanne, who acknowledged the hard work and dedication displayed by the graduands, many of whom will have managed their studies alongside family and work commitments. The support shown by families, friends and partners alongside colleagues at Hope was recognised with a round of applause from attendees.
Capturing the joyful mood of the day, Professor Ozanne said: “You have demonstrated resilience and adaptability; this dedication will stand you in good stead for the future, and today’s celebration offers you the chance to reflect on and celebrate all that you have accomplished.”
Congratulations to our graduates.
