The Liverpool International Jazz Festival returns for 2019, with support from LiverpoolJazz.
Established in 2013 by Liverpool Hope University, this year’s festival includes performances by David Helbock's Random Control, Strobes, Milapfest and LIJF Afternoon Ragas, Kit Downes (Solo)/Trevor Watts and Stephen Grew, Darius Brubeck Quartet, Triple Bill with After the Flood, Deep Cabaret and Ancient Infinity Orchestra, Atom String Quartet and Vein featuring Andy Sheppard. There is also a Curly Woodwind Workshop Day featuring Andy Sheppard on Sunday 24th February.
The festival is in its seventh year and will take place from Thursday 21st - Sunday 24th February. The emphasis of the Festival is on contemporary instrumental jazz in a variety of styles, taking audience members on a musical journey that traverses numerous genres and cross-genres. These include Funk/Acid Jazz, IndoJazz and Jazz Rock. Along the way, there are support sets from North West artists, masterclasses, and workshops from Festival performers and after-events.
