Clearing student stories
Clearing can seem like a daunting experience for some, but as Grace Borg experienced, it ended up being one of the best things that could have happened to her. Read on to find out a little more about her story…
"I had originally applied to study Media and Communication at a mixture of universities across the country. I didn’t do as well in my A Levels as I expected, but I am still very proud of my results."
"I did initially think that my dream of going to university was over, but my Head of Sixth Form showed me the UCAS Clearing page, which listed all of the universities that were still accepting places for the course I was wanting to study."
"I’ve always loved visiting Liverpool, so when I saw Liverpool Hope University I knew that I wanted to give them a call."
"When I called, the woman I spoke to couldn’t have been nicer. As this was a stressful and emotional time for my family and I, the warm response I received on the other end of the phone made the process so much easier. It was this lovely response that made me really want to go to Hope."
"I received my offer straight away and my details were sent straight to the accommodation office. Within a couple of days, my room was also confirmed!"
"Although I was nervous when I started at Hope, I am confident that I made the right choice. I believe everything happens for a reason and I love it here at Hope."
"If I could say anything to those who are entering Clearing, it would be to not panic! I know it’s easier said than done, but when I thought my chances at going to university were over, Clearing gave me another chance. Have a look at the UCAS Clearing page and choose somewhere that’s right for you. Hope was the perfect choice for me."
