The Capstone Theatre hosted a new play written and performed by the daughter of Visiting Professor and acclaimed playwright John Godber OBE.
Following in her famous father’s footsteps, Elisabeth Godber wrote ‘Three Emos’ after becoming a Dementia Friend and wanting to raise awareness of the condition among younger generations.
The play sees emos Ruth, Nat and Liv spend their days working dead-end jobs in Hull, and nights in Spiders, and the Polar Bear. But an idea to start their own band soon gets out of hand, and before they know it, they’re playing every care home in the East Riding. Generations clash and come together in this uplifting tale of finding inspiration in the most unlikely of places.
Three Emos was the first show of the Autumn Season at the Capstone Theatre, with the Smashing Mirrors production launching an eclectic and exhilarating season.
