FILM & VISUAL CULTURE

Film & Visual Culture at Liverpool Hope University is your chance to dive into filmmaking, screenwriting and visual storytelling in one of the UK’s most filmed‑in cities outside London. Taught by award‑winning practitioners and leading researchers, the course blends hands‑on creative work with the study of film history, theory and how movies shape society. You’ll learn practical skills in filmmaking, editing and screenwriting while exploring how film reflects real‑world issues and global culture. 

You’ll study on the Creative Campus with access to specialist equipment, studio spaces and expert support. Industry masterclasses, festival trips and partnerships with organisations like FACT help you build confidence and real‑world experience right here in Liverpool’s vibrant creative scene.
