Job banner

We are seeking proactive, resillient and enthusiastic individuals who would value the opportunity to join our Student Life team in supporting students in our residences.

This is a fixed term position starting in September 2024 until 27th June 2025.

Applicants should have a clear understanding of the mission and values of the University and how these are fundamental in Hope’s aspirations for student residential life. You will have empathy with the social, academic and support needs of students in residential halls and have a good understanding of the pressures and challenges in the lives of young people. You will be part of a dynamic team which works across the halls of residence on all three campuses.

You will be supporting the Director of Student Life in all areas of residential life work. Working with the team Coordinator, you will have a particular focus on building hall communities, settling students into halls, establishing and running hall committees, providing a point of contact for residential students and ensuring that there is a vibrant and exciting campus social life for those students to take part in. You should also be prepared to provide initial pastoral support to individual students where necessary and to develop a clear understanding of the University’s support structures and to signpost those students to the appropriate services.

Your day-to-day tasks will include working five days a week, including weekends and evenings in supporting students. Specifically, promoting and organising social events, facilitating hall meetings as appropriate, providing a drop-in signposting service and identifying any students in need.

Candidates will normally be registered for a postgraduate degree (other than PGCE and Social Work) at Liverpool Hope for the academic year 2024-2025 and ideally will  have completed their undergraduate study at the University. Candidates currently registered on undergraduate awards at Level H (other than BA.QTS) at Hope but with evidence of experience in residential student support will also be considered.

This is an excellent opportunity for current students who wish to be part of a team offering support to students and to develop skills in student support and wellbeing.

This post is a fixed term position from September 2023 until June 2024, during term-time. The hours of work are an average of 20 hours a week, typically 5 evenings a week (including Saturday and Sunday), some weekend and daytime duties, out of hours contact and admin hours as appropriate.

Interviews are scheduled to take place by the end of April 2024.
