Senior Lecturer in Teacher Education and BA Course Lead - Ref 2AEDS11A
This role will be fixed term/limited duration for 12 months in the first instance and may become open-ended in the future depending on student numbers. However, it is important that colleagues are aware that unfortunately there is no guarantee that the roles will become permanent. As such, applicants should understand their employment with the University may be at risk at the end of the 12 month period if the work is no longer required (due to insufficient student numbers or another substantial reason) or if they do not secure an alternative permanent role at the University within this period. The University would consider if student numbers were sufficiently strong to justify the positions becoming open-ended at that point.
The School of Education is seeking an experienced colleague to make a major contribution to the development and leadership of the undergraduate Primary Education course as Course Leader and teach across all Primary Education routes within the school.
The role will be of considerable significance moving forward, and we are looking for applicants who have the professional expertise and commitment to ensure that the curriculum is ambitious, carefully sequenced, and underpinned by our commitment to inclusion and social justice. The person appointed will have a high level of expertise in primary education. Additionally, as a highly skilled professional, substantial recent experience in professional contexts such as educational research and knowledge exchange, curriculum development, school or HEI leadership and experience across multiple key stages and curricular subjects is desirable. Applications will be particularly welcomed with expertise in Geography and / or English.
We are looking for an individual who will bring enthusiasm and a sense of vocation for their chosen subject and profession, with demonstrable successful experience in an educational context. Support will be provided to develop the successful applicant to be a leading Teacher Educator. Bringing substantial, recent, and relevant professional experience, which may be within an HEI or a school centred initial teacher training provision, you will be looking for an opportunity to work with others to ensure that Hope ECTs and graduates will be effective, reflective, fully informed, and committed curriculum shapers of the future.
We are looking for a professional who understand the importance of the university-school partnership and will be skilled in strengthening relationships with schools.
