CONTEMPORARY CRAFT BA (HONS)

Contemporary Craft at Liverpool Hope University is a hands-on, creative degree designed for the next generation of makers and designers. You’ll explore exciting ways of thinking, making and expressing ideas in a supportive studio environment, building confidence, creativity and your own artistic identity.  

Working across core materials such as metal, ceramics and textiles, alongside digital processes like 3D printing and laser cutting, you’ll develop both traditional craft skills and new techniques. Your learning is rooted in a combination of research-led practice, encouraging you to experiment, collaborate and push boundaries. 

You’ll take part in live projects, community collaborations, and exhibition opportunities that respond to real-world social and environmental issues while developing your professional practice. Alongside expert technical support and specialist workshops, you’ll gain the skills and experience needed to build a portfolio for the creative industries.

CONTEMPORARY FASHION DESIGN

Fashion at Liverpool Hope University is all about creativity, experimentation and developing your own unique style. Based in Liverpool, a city known for its bold fashion identity and thriving creative scene, you’ll explore hands-on design processes from day one. You’ll work across constructed textiles, fashion image making and styling, print for fashion, drawing development, and creative textile construction, building a strong technical toolkit that blends digital and handcrafted techniques such as laser cutting and screen printing.  

The course ethos is sustainability, encouraging you to experiment with ethical materials and innovative approaches to contemporary fashion. You’ll grow your confidence through live industry projects, portfolio development and personalised support from practising designers and technicians.
