Marketing is one of the most challenging, fast-moving and exciting disciplines in the world of business. Our Marketing degree has a theoretical focus that is combined with practical examples of how companies apply the theory on a day-to-day basis, meaning that what you learn is not only academically sound but also rooted in the realities of today’s dynamic marketplace.
During your degree, you will be provided with the key skills and knowledge that will enable you to understand the marketing context, marketing research and the discipline’s central role to business success, while allowing you to reflect on the moral and ethical implications of marketing behaviour. The ever advancing fields of Social Media and Digital Marketing run through the Marketing curriculum as central themes and allow you to reflect on the many challenges and opportunities that these technological and cultural changes provide. We believe your ability to gain meaningful employment after you graduate is really important, so there is a strong focus on helping you to develop your employability skills.
The degree is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) under their Graduate Gateway programme. This means that our graduates will receive significant exemptions from the institute’s professional membership examinations. It has been designed so that you learn from research-active staff while at the same time being mentored and given masterclasses by industry leaders. Marketing focuses on a wide range of organisations, from SMEs to global multinational organisations and across all sectors. Studying such a comprehensive view of the marketing world prepares you for a career in organisations of any type and size. For more details and information about this course visit:
We provide a number of programmes of study in Psychology. As well as three Single Honours programmes - BSc Psychology, BA Psychology & Education, and BSc Sports Psychology - we offer a number of Combined Honours programmes. Combined Honours programmes allow students to combine a core curriculum on Psychology with the core curriculum of a second subject. Giving students a choice over what they study is important to us. Choice of programmes allows students to study a course that reflects their prior interests, lived experience, or future goals.
Ethical practice and working within a shared set of values is also important to us; our University is deeply committed to serving the common good. We see Psychology as a discipline with the capacity, and responsibility, to make a positive contribution to how people live in everyday life. Through our teaching of Psychology, we strive to enable our students to grow into constructive citizens who are curious about people, and motivated to make a positive difference to the lives of others. Beyond classroom learning, there are opportunities to enrich your chosen programme of study in a way that will help you in developing your psychological thinking. They include going on a placement, working as a research assistant in a laboratory, travelling to another country as part of Global Hope, or under the Erasmus study abroad scheme.
Our enthusiasm for the discipline is reflected in our University’s TEF Gold Award, and our consistently high ratings in other reliable measures of the quality of a University; e.g. National Students’ Survey. If our departmental narrative matches with what you aspire to be, then come and study with us at Liverpool Hope University.
