International Student Compliance Officer (2 posts)

Liverpool Hope University is seeking to appoint two International Student Compliance Officers – one specialising in Pre-Arrival and one in On-Course international student compliance – to join the Admissions Department and the Student Enrolment and Administration team.

The University continues to welcome international students across all levels, including foundation, undergraduate, postgraduate taught, and postgraduate research programmes.  These roles are integral to supporting and maintaining the University’s UKVI compliance requirements in relation to reporting, record-keeping, and monitoring applicants and enrolled students in line with regulatory guidelines.

Applicants will automatically be considered for both positions.  If you wish to be considered for only one of the roles, please clearly state this in your application.

International Student Compliance Officer (Pre-Arrival)

  • Leading on pre-arrival compliance checks to ensure the University meets its responsibilities under the Student Sponsor Licence and Sponsorship Duties
  • Maintaining accurate records in accordance with Appendix D requirements
  • Acting as the central point of contact for all pre-arrival international student compliance matters
  • Working within admissions to ensure consistent and compliant practices are in place for all students subject to immigration control.

This role will also receive training to provide cover for the International Student Compliance Officer (On-Course) during periods of absence and peak activity.

International Student Compliance Officer (On-Course)

This post covers the on-course stage of the compliance cycle, including (but not limited to):

  • Leading on continuation and completion BCA metrics by ensuring students meet their visa-related engagement obligations
  • Ensuring processes are in place to monitor international students’ attendance, assessment, and engagement, and meeting with students at risk of falling below required thresholds
  • Leading on on-course compliance checks, including liaison with students, partners, and agents to ensure institutional compliance
  • Providing internal and external guidance on the University’s responsibilities under the Student Sponsor Licence and Sponsorship Duties
  • Maintaining accurate records in accordance with Appendix D requirements
  • Acting as the central point of contact for all on-course international student compliance matters

This role will also receive training to provide cover for the International Student Compliance Officer (Pre-Arrival) during periods of absence and peak activity.

We are seeking candidates who are:

  • Educated to degree level or able to demonstrate equivalent relevant experience
  • Experienced in compliance (essential)
  • Highly organised with strong communication and project-management skills
  • Able to work flexibly, using initiative and adapting to periods of peak activity
  • Committed to delivering a high-quality student experience and knowledgeable about Higher Education processes

Please note that, due to the nature of these roles and key activity periods, annual leave is limited at the end of August and beginning of September.
