The School of Law and Criminology delivers a dynamic, research-informed curriculum at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, equipping students with the knowledge, skills and experience essential for thriving careers in criminology, criminal justice and beyond. We offer a range of programmes, including the three and four-year undergraduate Criminology degrees, and several BA Major Honours degrees in which Criminology can be combined with a range of other disciplines.

Senior Lecturer in Criminology

We are seeking an established criminologist with a record of high-quality research and publication, an active and current research agenda, and the standing to contribute to the academic development at Liverpool Hope.

Candidates should have experience in delivering engaging teaching across a broad range of criminology modules, providing academic support to students and contributing to cutting-edge curriculum development in the field. The ability to teach widely across the undergraduate curriculum is important and provides valued flexibility and resilience within the team.

We particularly welcome candidates with specialist expertise in the following areas of terrorism, or; violent extremism, online radicalisation, misogynistic extremism (the manosphere), and any other areas of emerging and contemporary criminological scholarship that complement existing programmes.

We are keen to develop our research and teaching in rapidly evolving areas of criminological scholarship that are increasingly important across criminal justice, policing, education and public policy, and that represent a distinctive strength within the programme. Experience of teaching quantitative research methods to social science students would also be valued.
