CRIMINOLOGY

Criminology at Liverpool Hope lets you study crime through a social justice lens and develop the skills to challenge inequality and promote positive social change.

You’ll explore why crime happens and how society responds to it, with specialist teaching in growing areas such as green criminology and environmental justice. The course covers key topics including extremism, transnational crime, policing, probation and rehabilitation. You’ll build advanced research and analytical skills through research-led teaching while benefiting from a supportive environment with small-group classes and personal academic support.

You’ll gain an insider’s understanding of contemporary criminological issues and real-world challenges. The programme is designed to be engaging and forward-looking, helping you develop critical thinking and problem-solving abilities that are essential for making a difference in society. With a strong emphasis on social justice, you’ll examine how crime intersects with issues of power, inequality and the environment. If you’re interested in crime, justice, and creating a fairer society, this course offers an exciting and thought-provoking way to develop your knowledge and skills for a rewarding future.
