Applying through UCAS

If you are applying to study for an undergraduate degree in a UK university, then you need to make your application through the Universities and Colleges Application Service (UCAS). This page provides you with all the essential details you need to know about applying through UCAS.

UCAS Codes

Every university in the UK has a unique UCAS number and abbreviated name, which you need to include on your application form. The UCAS number and abbreviated name for Liverpool Hope University are L46 and LHOPE.

Every undergraduate degree has a unique UCAS code which you need to include on your application form. You can find the UCAS code for all of our degrees on our undergraduate course page.

UCAS Deadlines

You can apply through UCAS from the 1st September for entry the following autumn.

The normal closing date for receipt of UK and EU applications is usually 15th January, following which you can apply through UCAS Extra.

International students can apply through UCAS between 1st September and 30th June.

UCAS Extra

If you used all five of your choices on your original application but you’re not holding an offer, you’ll be able to add another choice using UCAS Extra. You can only apply to one course at a time through Extra, meaning you won't be able to have an insurance choice.

Take a look at our courses, find one you want to apply to and add the details to your application. The university will then consider your application and give you a decision. If after 21 days you don’t hear back, you can choose to either continue to wait or add a new choice!

If you don’t hold any offers after 5th July, don’t worry, you will be able to add an additional choice using Clearing. Visit UCAS Extra to find out more.

Application fee

When you apply through UCAS, you need to pay an application fee, which for 2021 entry is £26 if you choose between two and five choices, or £20 if you make only one choice on the UCAS form.

UCAS Track

Once you have made your applications through UCAS, you can follow the progress of your application via UCAS Track.
